Our Venue

Hemswell Court

We will be getting married in the beautiful Hemswell Court. A former RAF Officer's Mess, and stand-in for RAF Scampton in the 1955 film the Dam Busters, it has been converted into a gorgeous and highly-awarded events venue.

Hemswell Court features 27 en-suite bedrooms, available for both Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September 2025. Details for booking rooms will be provided at a later date.

There is plenty of parking, and the venue will be for our exclusive use.

Local attractions

Things to do

You may wish to spend some time in Lincoln before or after the wedding. We have some suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

  • Lincoln Castle - 11th century castle with 18th century jail, displaying one of four original copies of the Magna Carta

  • Lincoln Cathedral - 11th century cathedral, formerly the tallest building in the world for 237 years

  • The Bailgate - directly adjacent to the Castle and Cathedral, boutique shops line cobbled streets alongside ruined sections of the Roman wall

  • Steep Hill - 14% incline street up to the Bailgate, featuring many independent shops. Not for the faint-hearted!

  • Doddington Hall - beautiful country home in a small village, with a café and a farm shop

  • Daisy Made - delightful family-owned ice cream shop with drive-through window and 9 holes of mini-golf

Places to eat
  • No. Thirty 8 (£££) - very good food, located just around the corner from Lincoln Castle

  • Hobbsons Restaurant and Pie Shop (££) - located down Steep Hill, perfect for a break on your way up or down. Delicious pies and traditional Lincolnshire meals

  • Huckleberry's Bar and Grill (££) - American-style smokehouse. Eat where we had our first ever date!

  • Cognito (£££) - Japanese tapas, featuring sushi and bao buns, with cocktails to accompany

  • Marco Pierre White Steakhouse (£££) - high-quality steak and burgers. We really love the buttered peas! After dinner, move to the Electric Bar for drinks with views of the city

  • Pyewipe Inn (££) - situated alongside a river, just a 30 minute walk (1.5mi) from the city centre. Simple pub grub and drinks - perfect for a sunny day
